New Phishing Scam – Fake emails from Apple

There is a new breed of phishing attack appearing in people’s inboxes.

The scam email is masquerading as a support message from Apple informing you that, under the “Know your Customer” legislation, they are required to carry out a verification procedure and that failure to complete it will result in your Apple iCloud account being deleted. This is completely bogus.

Variations of this phishing attack have mentioned iCloud, AppleID and iTunes services, and we will probably see similar phishing messages pretending to come from the likes of Dropbox, Google, Yahoo and Facebook over the next few months.

So be careful and double check the source of the message before clicking any links.
Be on your guard!
